Promotion of public accountability by carrying out audits and reporting to Parliament on the discharge of accountability by the executive to enable Parliament to exercise control over public finance.

The audit of the accounts of all Departments of the Government, Provincial Councils, Local Authorities and Public Corporations and of any Business or other Undertakings vested in the Government under any written law and to report to Parliament annually and as and when necessary on the discharge and performance of the duties and functions for the accomplishment of the above mission.
